Meet Jaime Aparicio of Memorial Hermann

Performing at the highest level without injury is the goal of every athlete. Sometimes this requires assistance from the human performance experts at the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute. Jaime Aparicio is one of the may specialists working every day to help athletes perform at their best because competition has never been healthier.

Located at the Memorial Hermann Shepherd Square Human Performance Lab, Jaime takes special interest in the running biomechanics, gait retraining and strength and power development of his athletes. He is also certified in dry needling techniques for upper and lower extremities.

Jaime received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University and is fellowship trained in orthopedic manual therapy. He is also a board certified sports clinical specialist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Being a competitive long distance road and trail runner (Marathon/50K) himself, he takes a special interest in endurance and long distance runners and is also a USA Track and Field Level I Coach.

In addition to his role at Memorial Hermann, Jaime is a Professor of Biomechanics in the Kinesiology Department at Rice University and consultant for the University of Houston Athletics Sports Medicine Department.
