Nick James was 1 of the the 28 players selected by Women's Eagles Head Coach Pete Steinberg to travel to Ireland for the Women's Rugby World Cup 2017.
It came as no surprise to the coaching staff at ATH to see Nick James’ name on the roster for the USA Women’s Rugby Team. She has been non-stop hard work since beginning her training at our North Houston training center.
“From the moment Nick began training we knew she was focused and wouldn’t give up until she accomplished great things,” says Neil McMillian, director of training systems. A rugby great in his own right, Coach McMillian set aside extra time to assist Nick with some rugby technique as well as provide her resources in our training centers. It was important to Nick to have as many resources under one roof so she could focus on her skill and take her game to the next level. She found that at ATH.
James is very active in the rugby community. She plays for the Houston Athletic Rugby Club – HARC, is a SHARCs player coach, Woodlands Youth Rugby Club Girls Coach, and Texas A&M Women’s Rugby Team coach.
With so much on her schedule, it’s even more admirable to see Nick training so hard at ATH. We know that she will represent the USA with class and determination.
